If You're Gonna Complain...
Recently at my school, we had a few people who made up a "dance routine", and the teachers made them teach it to our entire grade. It was really hard, and way above most student's skill levels. But that's beside the point. Some people were goofing off during the "lesson", so the students who were teaching the routine wrote a complaint letter to the principal naming exactly who was goofing off and way over-exaggerating what they actually did.
Now, you're probably thinking, "Good for them! They wrote a complaint letter! That's what Ocyras is all about!" If you are thinking that, then you're terribly mistaken. The dance routine was very hard and fast, so it was extremely hard to keep up. The students knew they were going to get a bad mark on it anyway (yes, we were getting marked on it) so they decided to just... not really do it.
I know this is not what they should have done, but now I'm really getting away from the main point of this rant. The main point is, why would you complain about one silly little thing, when there are far greater and much more important problems in the world. War, poverty, child labour, the list goes on and on. But no, people only want to complain about things that directly effect them. Who cares about all of the little children in Africa who work long hours every day to bring home little more than pennies? Certainly not us, who live in North America and have all of the money, food, and shelter we need, and much more!
So, if you're gonna complain, it should be about something worthwhile. You may be thinking, "Well, you should feel lucky to have an education! Most of those kids in Africa don't!" I agree with you partially. But, our school system is quite terrible right now. It really needs to be changed. Millions of kids suffer in school every day. They need help as much (well, maybe not quite as much) as anyone else.
